This was my first recording device. I probably made the first recording, of me playing a plastic guitar with broken string, that I had replaced with rubber bands, when i was 7. But by 10 or so, I had a mixer, and was making recordings in the method described here.

It sounded horrible, but it was magical to hear my own guitar being played back.
