This is a passive equalizer similar to a pultec, but with a solid state make-up amplifier instead of the pultec’s usual tube amplifier. The result? Sounds about the same.

12k on these things sounds AMAZING. Bass boost, ok. Not really a fan.

Really, the studio I worked at had a pair of these, and except for the 12k, I’d generally just use the Amek’s EQs instead of these. Probably says something.

These go for A LOT now.
