A simple speaker cabinet for home recording.
I originally made one like this, with a similar build, out of extra MDF, and half of a front baffle from a Marshall cab I had converted to a head, that served as my main 'home recording' cab from 2020 to 2025. However, it was just kind of clanky to keep around the house, so I built a more purposeful one. This one features a actual jack to connect the input, vs the original one, which just had a 1/4" jack on a lead hardwired to the speaker. And this one being a bit deeper, to allow mini- amp heads to actually sit on top of it, with a 7" depth vs the original one's 4" depth. Both built with 1/2" mdf though, and both put together with screws and wood glue, though this one had a custom cut mdf baffle, and used cabinet screws.
The speaker is the same one from the original cab, a 1990s 30 watt, 8 ohm, Celestion G12L.
Cab measures 14x14x7"
